Giving Back This Holiday Season With Food Lifeline

At Blue Fern, we strive to be more than just builders. Having the ability to help improve the communities we build in plays a huge part in who we are and what we do, and we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors. As we enter into the season of giving, we would love to share with you one story about a local organization we’ve partnered with in the past who has been continuously working to end hunger in Western Washington for 40 years.

Food Lifeline

Food Lifeline is a local organization that is close to our hearts, and we are incredibly grateful that we once again had the opportunity to partner with them to organize pre-made meals to donate to local food shelters throughout the area.

On the day our team volunteered with Food Lifeline, the organization was able to create 134,000 meals for families and individuals experiencing food insecurity in our communities. In the 2021 Fiscal Year, over 120,000 people have volunteered to help this outstanding organization, and the results they are seeing are truly something to be proud of— but there is still more to come from this team in the future.

Find Ways to Help in Your Community

This time of year brings out the desire in us to take a minute to reflect on all of the blessings in our lives and give to those who may not have all of the help and resources that we do. We hope that you bring this feeling of gratitude into your daily life and offer as much as you can to those around you long after the the holiday season ends. Give a single dollar to your favorite organization, spend an hour of your time helping a neighbor, send a word of encouragement or a smile to a stranger— simply do whatever you can this season to give back to the community you live in and the world around you.

Our team at Blue Fern is incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work with local organizations such as Food Lifeline to help our communities. If you’re interested in learning more about Food Lifeline, here are ways you can help and times you can volunteer in the future.
